Not sure if many of you have noticed, but after many of the Brewers reach base, they wildly throw up their arms in a short celebration which is now being called ‘beast mode.’ Corey Hart, Nyjer Morgan and Prince Fielder have all been known to throw up the old bear claws in celebration. In fact, in last night’s 7-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, Prince was seen in ‘beast mode’ as he crossed the plate after his late inning homer sealed the Brewers victory. His gesture toward the crowd made the fans go bonkers.
“It’s from Monsters, Inc.,” Fielder told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel earlier this week. “That’s my kids’ favorite movie. The whole team does it now. It’s something that I saw my kids do, and I thought it was funny, so I thought I might as well do it, too.”
From previous years with the infamous untucking of shirts, this confident group of Brewers have taken on a whole new realm of identity simply known as BEAST MODE. Fear the Beast.
